Schooling in Switzerland Swiss Education

Education is one of the best resources in Switzerland. You can divide the schooling in Switzerland into Kindergarten, Elementary School, Secondary School, Apprenticeship, University and the technical College. Most of the people will choose to go to the public school than that of the private school. The private school is very expensive whereas the public school is free for the students.

In most of the primary schools, the minimum age limit to get admission is 6 years and in some other school it is 5 year and 3 months. When a kid comes to take admission, the authority will give them that particular school depending upon the language they can speak. The three main languages that are predominant are French, Italian and German.

The medium of studies of some of the private schools of Switzerland is English. You can consider this type of school as International school. The primary school ends at class five and then the authority shift them to secondary level. In the secondary level, they divide the class in several sections.

The students get admission in a particular section depending on his or her capability. They teach the students according so that they can prepare the higher IQ students for the higher studies. Some of the students prefer to go for apprentice after completing the primary level of education.

Eleven Universities are there in Switzerland. Federation and Canton runs some universities. Some of the universities are located in the German speaking part of Switzerland like Basel, Zurich, St Gallen, Bern and Lucerne.

Some universities are located in the French speaking parts of Switzerland like Lausanne, Geneva and Neuchatel. From 1996, the Italian speaking University started Ticino. There is also some of the private Institution. Some are International Institute of Management development and International Hotel Management Institute.

Students come from all over the world to be a part of these Universities. Switzerland also offers online education. This is mainly popular for the higher studies like post graduation. Therefore, you can say that the education system of Switzerland is popular at the same time its worth being a part of the universities that are located in Switzerland.
