What to do in Switzerland
|
If you are wondering what to do in Switzerland, then let me begin by saying that this is one small country which offers more entertainment and adventure than you can possibly have in any other European country. Tourism is one of the main businesses in Switzerland. Hence it is of paramount importance that the government would take proper care of the tourists.
An effect of this you see in the transport and communication systems in Switzerland which are world class for tourists. If you want adventure with a lot of people around, you can enjoy the snowy hills and other risk spots. If on the other hand, you like nothing better than a quiet rendezvous with your loved one even that can be arranged in intimate country houses.
The very image of Switzerland brings to mind a variety of things ranging from Swiss watches to chocolates to army knives. Swiss cheese is revered throughout the world. And then of course who can forget skiing near the Alps and the Matterhorn? Switzerland has been an oft repeated locale in many movies for long.
The beautiful mountains, the scenic picturesque villages, the idyllic farms and the cobblestone streets transport you to a world far removed from the hustle bustle of modern corporate life. Here people still walk slowly, they still appreciate the beauty of nature and look towards life with new optimism everyday. Hence the question, what to do in Switzerland is best answered by the long activities that you can indulge in this quiet serene atmosphere.
Switzerland has a magnificent history full of ancient castles, palaces and museums. Lucerne for instance, has a lot of buildings dating back to the medieval times. The most ancient road bridge in all of Europe, the Kapellbrucke is located here. The Kapell Bridge was built right in the fourteenth century. Around ten museums are found in Lucerne alone.
Gruyere is another captivating town which has an ancient castle whose origins are unknown. There are a lot of theaters and concerts held in this castle. There is also a museum. The mysterious nature of the castle has always attracted foreigners towards this quiet serene place. Also the view between the two ridges of Dent de Broc and Dent du Chamois is absolutely breathtaking and has provided a special subject to many photographs.
Many towns of Switzerland provide facilities for snow sports like skiing. So what to do in Switzerland will not be a problem at least when you come here, as there are innumerable things you can indulge in depending on your choice.
