Lucerne Lake
Lake Lucerne is also called Vierwaldstattersee which means “ Lake of the 4 Forest Cantons”. The lake shares its borders with the cantons of Schwyz, Uri, Unterwalden and of course the canton of Lucerne from where the lake has derived its name. It is one of the most scintillating lakes found in Switzerland surrounded all over by mountains and the forest reaching to the shore in most of the places.
Unique Characteristic of Lake Lucerne
You get some spectacular views from Lake Lucerne due to its uneven shape which keeps changing when viewed from different angles. The experience will be thrilling especially when your boat weaves in a zigzag pattern throughout the span of the lake. You can take a steamer or a boat which runs throughout the year though the sailing season is at its peak between June and September with less visitors from April till May and in the month of October.
