Lake Lucerne is also called Vierwaldstattersee which means “ Lake of the 4 Forest Cantons”. The lake shares its borders with the cantons of Schwyz, Uri, Unterwalden and of course the canton of Lucerne from where the lake has derived its name. It is one of the most scintillating lakes found in Switzerland surrounded all over by mountains and the forest reaching to the shore in most of the places.

You can take a steamer or a boat which runs throughout the year though the sailing season is at its peak between June and September with less visitors from April till May and in the month of October.
